To celebrate the exceptional achievements of women’s, the Ministry of Women and Child Development, has launched an online Campaign, ‘Web-wonderwomen ‘. The purpose of this campaign is to drive a positive agenda via Social Media to celebrate and discover the exceptional achievements of women for driving a social change.
The campaign launched on 9TH Jan 2019 with the presence of Union Minister of Women and Child Development; Mr. Colin Crowell, Global Head, Public Policy, Twitter; and Ms. Sohini Bhattacharya, President & CEO, Breakthrough.
The purpose to launch this campaign is to steer a change in society. The Campaign partner’s aim to recognize the fortitude of Indian Women from across the globe who have used the power of social media to run positive & niche campaign.
“Indian women have always been enterprising and have created a positive impact on society with their hard work, experience and knowledge’’, said by the Union Minister, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, at the launch. WebWonderWomen will honor and inspire the powerful voices of Women online through niche and encourage such voices to drive a positive impact on social media platforms.The Campaign partners with Breakthrough and Twitter India.
The Entries to the campaign are invited via Nominations from across the entire world, as per the laid out criteria. Indian-origin women, working or settled anywhere in the world, are eligible for nomination. The nomination is now open till 31st January 2019.
The finalists will be selected by a specialized panel of judges and the shortlisted entries will be open for public voting on Twitter.
Nominations have been invited to a large number of categories including Health, Media, Literature, Art, Sports, Environmental Protection, and Fashion among others. The Campaigns aims to empower and uplift the power of Women using social media network.
